Xbox 360 Console 40 Million Sales Worldwide
Xbox 360 Console 40 Million Sales Worldwide – The Xbox 360 continues to reach and pass sales milestones that many thought would be unattainable when the system was first released. The system was first launched in November 2005, and since that time Microsoft has been able to sell over 40 million of the devices worldwide. After the figures were reported by different websites, they were confirmed by sources inside of Microsoft.
Earlier in the month Microsoft released their third quarter financial sales results. The XBox division has grown steadily for the company, and this quarter was able to bring in $1.67 billion in revenue for Microsoft. This presented a 2% increase over the same quarter last year. It was said that during this quarter Microsoft was able to sell 1.5 Million Xbox 360 consoles across the globe. While this number did decrease 12% from the previous quarter, that can be attributed to the holiday season boost most companies receive.
Microsoft has said that they hope to increase their sales momentum with their hugely popular gaming console. They will achieve this by shipping their Project Natal systems, which will introduce a motion camera add-on for the Xbox 360 that will allow users to play their Xbox much in the same way that users use their Nintendo Wii’s. Project Natal is expected to launch sometime around the holiday season. Microsoft is also reportedly considering releasing a new slim model of the console, following in the footsteps of the Sony Playstation.
