Gameloft Growth Hopes
French video game publisher Gameloft SA predicts it’s growth via the new Amazon AppStore as well as games played on televisions without consoles they told Reuters.
Gameloft got huge from using Apple Inc’s products for iPhones and iPads. Now the company is going to make a mint with Amazon.com Inc’s new AppStore to accelerate sales on the Google Android software platform.
The company’s Chief Executive Michel Guillemot stated that Amazon is basically just what the doctor ordered for Gameloft’s goals.
“The Amazon ecosystem is controlled where we don’t find too many pirated versions of our games or malware games, so for the consumers, it will be a safer place to come and get applications,” he said.
Guillemot isn’t kidding around when he says he sees the Amazon AppStore as a means to boost his company’s sales as the market for mobile games is predicted to grow to about $11 billion by 2014 and that’s a conservative number based on available technology and no one knows what new tech is waiting in the wings that could boost the gaming industry into new realms of affluence.
