E3 Video Game Conference 2011 Is Promising
This year’s E3 video game conference is going to be insane!
The conference is so huge it covers 8 football fields in size with over 40,000 reporters expected to show up. The conference will spotlight everything video game related that exists on the planet Earth.
The big players will be there from the gaming console companies like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to software companies whose games rule the roost including EA, 2K, and more.
The video game market is struggling even though it’s an almost $70 billion market. That’s a long way from the days of the video game “Pong” that had one console that knocked an electronic dot back and forth across the screen like a ping pong ball.
Nowadays players of video games can explore the vastness of outer space or battle ancient mythological monsters or even engage in prime time sporting events like world series matches. The genres cover everything from realistic visual combat to fairy tale adventures featuring little cute bears and magical ponies.
The thrust toward the video game market is understandable because a popular game can rake in more money than half the motion picture take at the box office domestically. Big feature films are now becoming more of teasers or advertisements for the video games.
This year’s E3 which is being held on June 7-9 has all the bells and whistles will introduce new gaming consoles, hand held devices, networks, celebrities, companies and more.
In addition the issues of security and quality control will come forth as this year Sony’s PlayStation 3 network got clobbered by the biggest hacking attempt in history.
