Brian Kingrey: Gamer Wins $1 Million »

Who says video games are a waste of time?

They sure weren’t for a music teacher named Brian Kingrey, 25 who scored himself a $1 million prize for chalking up a no-hitter playing the MLB2K11 Perfect Game Challenge.

Kingrey had picked Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay as his game avatar who last year threw the 20th perfect game in Major League Baseball history. That game was against the Florida Marlins 1-0.

A tumult is arising regarding a new video game that has players abducting women and giving them a “reassuring slap” if the abductees protest and it’s got women’s rights groups and others almost up in arms.

It’s the new incarnation of the popular Duke Nukem series of video games that depicts women as strippers and prostitutes. This new version is ready for a Spring release and even is reportedly has scenes where the lead character, Duke receiving hinted at oral sex from twins in school uniforms.

Gameloft Growth Hopes »

French video game publisher Gameloft SA predicts it’s growth via the new Amazon AppStore as well as games played on televisions without consoles they told Reuters.

Gameloft got huge from using Apple Inc’s products for iPhones and iPads. Now the company is going to make a mint with Amazon.com Inc’s new AppStore to accelerate sales on the Google Android software platform.

The company’s Chief Executive Michel Guillemot stated that Amazon is basically just what the doctor ordered for Gameloft’s goals.

The upcoming game “Dead Island” promises to be a bone-chilling thrill ride as the new trailer debuted recently, giving viewers something to talk about.

Although there aren’t too many zombie games that are really scary, this one might be able to offer something that the others cannot—a true on the edge of your seat horror adventure.

Techland which has developed something a little bit different for this genre in the hopes that it breaks away from the standard zombie games that so many people have become accustomed to.

In Dead Island players will start in Banoi which is a tropical resort filled with tourists as far as the eye can see.

Kinect For PCs Near »

PrimeSense is currently in the process of applying Microsoft’s patented Kinect chip technology to the PC.

The Israeli company is working on the device that will be able to function with the computers just as well as with the actual gaming console.

PrimSense which is the original company behind the chip which is being used to power the motion-sensitive Kinect/Xbox 360 was launched on November 30th and since its release date it has become incredibly popular with gamers all over the world.

Soul Calibur New Title From Namco »

Namco has just announced that they will soon start work on a new Soul Calibur title, a move which many gamers did not anticipate.

Although it has been a while since the last title was released, there will no doubt be many who will be looking forward to it.

Daishi Odashima announced the news on his Twitter page; he is the designer of Soul Calibur and is excited about creating yet another version of the fighting game which although it has garnered only mild popularity will be returning once again.

Odashima told fans to get ready for another Soul Calibur as it has been officially confirmed. The photo that was posted of him on Twitter depicted the designer sitting alongside a few computers with Soul Calibur weaponry on them, giving fans a little taste of what is to come with revealing too much.

Microsoft Not Backing Sex-themed Kinect Game »

Microsoft has addressed the possibility of a game for the new Kinect motion-sensitive feature in which people would be able to have sex.

However Microsoft said that they would not condone such a video game or allow one to be released on their system. When the company said that it would be interesting full body motions for the Kinect, it of course raised suspicions as to where this idea was headed, but according to Microsoft not in the direction that some people would like.

The technology is still relatively new and limited but that is something that Microsoft plans on changing in the near future.
